BRW Sharazad

Updated 9/06: Shara's dam is no longer for sale and if I should have the slightest excuse to keep Shara - I will. Needless to say, my lack of desire to sell her makes her the last of the horses that are for sale to be worked with. Shara is a sweet filly, but somewhat high strung. I expect that she will settle down in another year or two. Her dam is a mare that - even green - I trust with beginners and her full sister is wonderfully sweet natured. I plan to breed Shara to Thee SabrasPrince in the early spring of '07.

Updated 3/05: Shara remains the SE/AK filly that I would most like to add to my 'keep' list, but there are simply limits to time and space. Shara's dam is on the 'preservation package' list with Shara's sire. Should Shara's dam sell before Shara does, Shara will be removed from the sales list instantly!

Updated 3/04: Shara was pastured with the mares/fillies that were for sale because she was continuously driving the other fillies away from me. Not that SHE wanted the attention, but she didn't want THEM to have it either. I put her in with her older sister and mares - now she is back to being the little pest for affection that she had originally been. Things seem to be working out much better with the new arrangement. Shara STILL has the tongue issue. She seems to be endlessly fascinated with her own tongue and will make strange faces in her quest to actually SEE her tongue - or something. Being a mere human, I'm not entirely sure what it is she is trying to do with her tongue, but it certainly looks strange! Seriously though, Shara is a fine filly. I've never managed to capture her action on film as I have Risaan, but Shara does have incredible movement. Shara is probably the filly that is for sale that I would most like to keep if I had room for just one more. But I don't, so my loss could be someone's gain.

Updated 12/26/02: Things haven't changed much since last year. Shara is now pastured exclusively with fillies her own age and two fillies that are just weanlings. Shara rules the paddock, but there are no bite/kick marks on any of the others. Shara is a show off and gets downright pushy for attention if she thinks one of the others is getting too much of HER attention. I would love to keep Shara, but there is only so much room. It was a rough decision to make and I would keep her in a heartbeat if there was just one more stall.

Original 2/2002: Shara was minutes old the first time I saw her. Shoved into the corner of the stall with no clue of how to untangle her legs. Certainly no idea of how to get out of that corner. Shara has been handled since birth - even had her hooves picked up before she had figured out how to stand up on her own. Shara was weaned at about 6 months of age and has been pastured with other horses including foals her own age. Shara is used to be led to/from her stall on a daily basis so she is very accustomed to humans and being handled. Like any youngster she has her foolish moments, but she is basically a laid back filly.
