Updated 9/06: Rose was bred to Khonversation Piece (maximum sabino) for a spring '07 foal. Rose is among the best quality horses that my breeding program has ever produced. It makes it hard to sell her, but at the same time she does not fit in with my breeding program. Rose is going to spend next spring being a mother and - hopefully - will be able to go to a show or two in '07, depending upon the show schedule and when the foal can be weaned.
Updated 3/05: Rose is a gorgeous young mare, but she is definitely showing signs of season this spring. Unfortunately she insisted on sticking her tail in the face of a gelding who had no clue what he should do about it - so he ate it. The longest hair on Rose's tail is less than six inches long at this time. Rose is going to 'date' my new stallion while her tail grows back enough that it isn't an embarassment to be seen near her.
Updated 1/03: Rose and Shara have been separated. For some reason these two fillies have become nearly inseparable. To the point of refusing to eat if the other isn't present. This just simply had to stop so they are now in separate pastures. They share a fence line, but I hope that eventually they will lose interest in standing next to the fence line.
Updated 12/27/02:
Rose just keeps getting more an more beautiful. She has 'presence' that makes it impossible
to believe that she has any faults, but yet when her conformation is carefully examined.....
Her faults are negligible. In fact, I would be hard pressed to come up with a clear
conformation fault. Rose is 'hot', but daily handling has made her easy to handle. This
is a filly that could easily go into the showring and make her owner proud.
Original 2/2002:
Rose has been handled since birth - even had her hooves picked up before she had
figured out how to stand up on her own. Rose was weaned at about 6 months of age and has
been pastured with other horses including those her own age. Rose is used to be led to/from
her stall on a daily basis so she is very accustomed to humans and being handled. Like
her 1/2 sister Sierra Summer, Rose is a fiery little girl. She has the belief that she
is the most perfect, beautiful filly that ever graced the earth - those who disagree are
fools in her not so humble opinion. She be handled from birth so she does have ground
manners, but she is not for the first time foal owner. Her quality makes her suitable
for the show ring.
